Fun Outdoor Finds and the City: Sloans Lake
I enjoyed being at a couple of my favorite outdoor locations here in Denver for this weeks 303 Home | Loft | Wellness blogs. Technically, this is the start of a new week and I should have done this blog post yesterday, but oye was I ever tired! Just going to pretend I wrapped this all up as I'd originally planned to. :)
That shot of the skyline was taken at another one of my favorite outdoor locations here in Denver, Sloans Lake. Cottonwood trees, cattails and bluegrass grow along the shoreline, and you can find white pelicans, mallard ducks, Canada geese, seagulls, barn swallows, house finches, as well as night hawks enjoying the beauty of this lake and park.
After living here for six years, my husband and I finally made our way to the annual Dragon boat Festival.
There were more than fifty teams participating in the dragon boat competition, a taste of Asia food court, lion dance extravaganza, and live performances and karaoke happening all through the day.
Filipino Empanadas, pretty tasty.
Filipino dancers performing on the main stage.
Who doesn't love an amazing parasol?!?
Had to get that canvas joker art for my husband.
There was a floral compact in there that had my name on it.
Ahhh! The cuteness.
The dragon, of course.
Cutest little guy ever!
